Stitch Me Up.

So I think I may of found my next hobby, when I have time to take up a new hobby that is. I found these adorable iron-on transfers for embroidering on http://www.sublimestitching.com/ . My “sewingness skills” are very limited, I’ve never run a sewing machine, I’m a pro with a hot glue gun though. However, I have sewn a pillow once by hand thank you very much, I’m not sure what became of it, but at the time it looked pretty snazzy. So glad I wasted my time making that for someone. “Groan, Groan, Sigh, Groan, Sigh, Sigh.” Anyways, I really want to get one of these patterns!

The Sun is Shining.

There for its going to be a great day. Plus, I just ordered a beautiful tulle trench coat from TopShop and I am super excited for it to be here in 5-10 days! Here’s the link for it here since it won’t let me copy and paste pictures from the website.

A rather ridiculously long link… Well, I have many errands to run today so I am going to work on straightening up my room and then run into town.

Lust.

While surfing the pages of my favorite clothing websites I found this adorable outfit, courtesy of www.modcloth.com. One of these days when I have money to spare I’ll have to buy one or two of the pieces from this outfit. Of course, when that day comes I m sure modcloth will have sold out of it by then. Oh well, dream a little dream. Modcloth is already out of the shoes in my size!

Dorm Room Bliss.

To soon many of us will be leaving the comforted lives we lead living at home, where are meals are made for us, the…the… Well I would say laundry is done for us, rooms are kept clean for us, cars are washed for us (even though my dad does this for me sometimes!), and I m sure there are lots of other things we do for ourselves that we think our parents should be doing for us on this list, but the point is we will soon be leaving the comfort of our much larger homes and better yet our own personable space granted to us by our parents “our bedrooms” and will be moving into dorm rooms. Often times these dorm rooms are way smaller than what we are use to and we have to share them with another person! Probably a stranger, maybe a friend, if your lucky. I m lucky of course, however roommate number two I still don’t know to well, but she seems pretty dandy. Anyways, here are some ideas for some awesome dorm rooms!

AA_Web_-_Inside_Small_Dorm_Room

Oh the plainness… This is a room at George Town University.

Not a clue where this one is, but isn’t it awesome? I’d love for this to be mine! Except on my depressing “emo days” I feel like the brightness of this room would bring me down even more.

Again I don’t know where this is, but this looks more like something I’d actually do, lots of stuff and all in different colors. More me.

plaid_room

Yeah… None of the schools I’ve looked at have had rooms this big… This can’t be a dorm, can it?

ss_100076788

If only all dorm rooms looked like IKEA show rooms… Right? If anything these pictures give good ideas for decorating our future "”jail cells.”

For me this one really wins! I love the vintage-floral print bed spread and the over complete look and feel of this room, I just don’t like the name’s on the wall. Are those in case they forget their names? Or their room mate’s name? Or for the guy from the one night stand to remember who he’s waking up next to? I guess I can see how these could be a good idea.

Very no bueno. I bet it smells like corn chips and my mom’s pug Hemi.

These beds look super comfy.

I love how this one’s use of storage and how it tries to hide the storage with the handing beads!

I think I’ll do a couple more dorm related blogs, talking about the most needed things and how to furnish your dorm room stylishly on a budget. Which of these is your favorite?

La Roux - Bulletproof

I just love, love, love! Everything about this video! The clothes, the make-up, the hair and of course the music! How many girls do you know that look that good with a faux hawk? Not many Im sure, my younger sister introduced me to this song and I just think its amazing. The faux hawk seems to be making it in as trend for women now just as much as the guys. Rihanna rocked the faux hawk and was even seen at fashion week this year. Would you rock this funky style?

Slow Dayz and Rantings of A VERY Bored Girl.

I type this from work, on my break of course and on the computer you aren't suppose to use for "personal reasons". Does anyone else do this at their work?
Anyways...
I now understand why so many teenagers choose to be under achievers. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed to come to work and now that I am at work its slow and very dead, so I still dont want to be here. It would be so much easier to not have a job, always live at home, not get a drivers liscence, not go to college, and party it up all the time. Ultimatley be a loser, professionally. Girls like me use to date boys like that (past tense of course) Who always later break your heart for the "loser girl", said girl probably has a kid and is ultimatley going no where with their lives, they might also even be a stripper.
People like this are going no where real fast and it took me quite awhile to realize. I eventually grew tired of my parents saying "I told you so." The sooner you realize that your out of high school boyfriend(girlfriend or friend) who can't drive, no future plans, partying, and unemployed is a loser the happier you'll be!
Surround yourself with people who are what you want to be, or have similiar goals and dreams. Or atleast realistic ones. Chances are that guy who looks good in his pants and has the nice flowy hair is gonna go as far with his 10th band as he did with his 3rd.
So rid your life of drama and enjoy how sweet it can be with good people who really care about you! It maybe hard to let go of some people, but keep in mind how much better off you are and how much better you'll feel!

It’s finally the weekend!

This has been a longgggg week. This whole working thing seems to make the week go by faster and slower all at the same time. Faster, because it never seems like there is never enough hours in the day to get things done. Slower, because it takes forever for the weekend to get here!

This week has been pretty eventful work, work, work. Than on Wednesday manicures and pedicures with Kayla, taco salad with Hannah, her dad and grandma tonight and waking up early tomorrow morning to watch the USA VS. Slovenia soccer game for group C of the World Cup tomorrow. We need a win. Also possibly going to the Tri-Cities area tomorrow. I am going to try and piece together a complete outfit for under $20-25.

Attempting to get rid of my old clothes has me drooling for new clothes.

I really want this outfit and all the pieces together are so not under $25. All the pieces can be found at Modcloth.com.

As I look around my room…

I see piles of clothes… Everywhere, and that is not an exaggeration. It seems that us girls (and guys to I am sure) are marvelous at accumulating large amounts of clothes. Soooo I have begun the very difficult task of sorting through all these clothes and deciding what I should keep and what I should get rid of. I’m trying to tell myself “If you haven’t worn it in 6 months to a year you probably aren’t going to wear it anytime soon!” If you to are having a hard time parting with clothes this is a very good method to go by. Since we all know that no matter how many clothes we get rid of, we are probably going to replace them soon anyways. :)

My first attempt to get rid of some clothes failed in a way. I tried to take a bag of clothes to Plato’s Closet in Kennewick and they only took like 3 articles of clothing and the other clothes were actually in pretty good condition. They just didn’t “fit” with everything else they had. Yeah…. That made loads of sense since double breasted jackets, skinny jeans, and v-necks were all hanging on racks in that store. Not to mention I was attempting to get rid of an ex-boyfriends shirt, and a jacket from another guy who must not be named. Figured I’d get some money out of heartache. haha

If you have clothes of a high quality that you are trying to sell I recommend trying a clothing re-sale store first (Plato’s Closet, Buffalo Exchange, Red Light…. ect.) Stores like Plato’s Closet want items that are usually less than 2 years old and how much your going to get for your clothes on going to vary by location. The time they spend pricing your items is what kills you, since by the time they are finally done you’ve picked out all the new clothes you want from their floor items, so be strong! Remember what you went in there for in the first place! To sell your clothes! Not buy more!

I need to finish sorting my clothes, I feel a giant yard sale coming on! :)

Ahhhh… I see introductions are in order.

I having just graduated from high school (on June, 5th 2010; to be exact), now find myself getting ready to head down the path to “higher education”. But (yes I know you can’t start a sentence with but, but it didn’t really fit with the last sentence and I just couldn’t see starting this sentence with any other word) before I jet off to Corvallis, Oregon to attend Oregon State in the fall, I have one very important task. Survive Summer.

I’ve had a great love of fashion, photography, and different elements of design for a very long time. Everyone is doing it, EVERYONE. So I decided to do it to. Start a blog that is! A blog concerning my steps to getting to college, summer jobs L, my jedi training, and of course my love for fashion. I mean hey, everyone else was doing it, so I had to too!

Me in a nutshell:

I am Chandra Lynn Magnuson, part of the graduating class of Hermiston High School 2010, no honors, and one scholarship for $500 oh yeah… That will stretch far. I was so busy with extra-curricular activities( Speech and Debate, FFA, High School Equestrian Team, ASB Leadership, Environmental Club, 4-H, and Soccer) in school that my GPA tended to slip occasionally. I let me love of fashion consume me throughout school, I never let the current trend or the “mall dwellers” get the best of me. Staying true to myself was and is my most important priority. I love vintage, and a lot of alternative styles and I try to mix things up a lot!

Soooo before this turns into a novel I’ll drop the bomb that I got a summer job working at Sears for $9.00 an hour plus commission, and no its not selling clothes all day…
